Where It’s Been Applied
Adapting across contexts, shaped
by the people closest to the issue
Since its inception in 2013, the People Centered Approach has been applied in over 20 humanitarian and transitional contexts from conflict zones to displacement settings, urban neighborhoods to remote rural areas. It has been implemented collaboratively with Red Crescent Movement members, international NGOs, local civil society actors, universities and most importantly, with communities themselves, who have shaped and led the process.
Over 750 field practitioners have been trained in the methodology and more than 3,000 community members have actively participated in shaping assessments, strategies and solutions.
Whether addressing displacement, legal exclusion or protection risks, People Centered consistently places local voices at the center of decision-making co-creating collective strategies that are safer, more trusted and more sustainable.
